In response to Are they real posted by jfarris:I am also someone who is dealing with Repressed Memories.
Right now I am dealing with them little at a time.
It seems like when I remember things in my past it is like putting salt in a open womb.
I know that I have to deal with this and I am determined to get the help that I need to do this so that I can continue my life without shame or wonder when I will have to remember something terrible that has happened to me in my past.
I cannot wait until I am able to let go of the pain that I carry.
I have posted my history in a article called on2recovery.
please read it and if you would like to talk I would love to chat or just listen.

In response to Are they real posted by jfarris:I have a ton of repressed memories from my childhood involving sexual and emotional abuse. But my problem is letting go of it...when it raises up I get really mad and I take it out on my body through bingeing and sometimes purging. I just want to feel happy again, before the pain started to rise up!!!

In response to Are they real posted by esaesteinbrecher:You don't have to "get over it". many people in your life want you to get over it because it makes it easier for them. You need to feel that anger. You need to rage against the pain. There is nothing wrong with beign angery as long as it doesn't consume you. Find a creative outlet to let it out. In the meantime try and find someone you can talk with on a regular basis, someone who doesn't mind listening. It is important to talk.
