I dreamt of tomorrows
That never came
I thought things would change

For some reason, I failed to see
The narcissist that was in front of me
You lied to me
You hid things from me
You managed on your charm
Telling me you'd do no more harm

PUNISHMENT

You didn't like me regaining control
It really started to take its toll
So you fought and got the house; got the money
All along thinking this was all very funny
Except when that didn't faze me
So you fought for custody
They're babies, not pawns!
But (once again) you're right and I'm wrong(?)
A step back, you thought you were winning
I could see your smile; I saw you grinning
Except when that didn't work
You decided to use the court clerk
You felt you were about to lose
So contempt and the system is what you chose to use

WITHOUT YOU

There is no more fight
I have taken flight
There are no more dreams of tomorrows
My nights are now free from all of those sorrows
I decided to control my life
"I" chose to NOT be your wife
I am free to dream, believe and feel
All life's happiness, all that is REAL!
The children will be old enough someday
They will listen to what I have to say
It won't be a sugar coated surprise
Because they will have seen with their very own eyes

I forgive you ...
They will forgive you
Will you ever be able to forgive yourself?

You did what was the only thing you could do. It hurts to make such decisions (especially when children are involved and you love them so) but what was left to do but run. All of we victims end up running because there is nothing else we can do and to try and tell any other person about what a narcissist is is like pulling teeth from a hen. They have to read about what the sickness is and then they may begin to empathize but until then, (or if they are going through the same thing), we victims are on our own and the decision to run is all our own decision and it is THE RIGHT DECISION. Good on you. Keep getting stronger (as I try to do). DON'T LET THE NARCISSIST WIN! Sienna1942
