» jenisejoy - Irritable Man Syndrome

Is this syndrome for real or is just an excuse to abuse? My husband started calling me foul names the beginning of this year. I told him he needed help and that I would not live with an angry, violent man. He ended up slapping me this summer and we have been separated since July.

A few days ago he told me he was suffering from mid-life crisis. The day after that, he told me it was actually IMS that he has.

Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

Hi jenisejoy,

I have not ever heard of that. However, even if it is real it is not an excuse for him to verbally and physically abusing you at all.

As I say, I haven't heard of it. You might want to try doing a web search to see if it exists. Even it if does, though, remember that there is no justification for abuse of any kind.

Take care of yourself,
A.J.

I agree with jenisejoy. There is never an excuse for verbal and physical assaults. You must seek help ASAP.
